SAVE $40: The Google Nest Doorbell (battery-powered) is on sale at Amazon for $139.99, down from the list price of $179.99. That's a 22% discount.

We have tons of options these days when it comes to smart home upgrades, from thermostats that get to know your preferences to mesh routers to floodlights. When it comes to home security, one of the easiest smart home integrations is a video doorbell. If you've been in the market to keep a closer eye on your front door, check out today's deal at Amazon.

As of Jan. 30, the Google Nest Doorbell (battery-powered) is on sale for $139.99 at Amazon, marked down from the usual price of $179.99. That's a 22% discount that'll save you $40.

The battery-powered version of the Google Nest Doorbell means you won't have to fiddle with wiring it into your home's existing doorbell system. And you're free to install it anywhere. The battery lasts about a month if your front door is a busy place, according to Google. If it's only recording two to five events per day, expect to get more like six months out of the battery life.

In addition to the convenience of not having wires, the Google Nest Doorbell comes in four colorway options, so you'll be able to find the one that best matches your home's exterior.

With the free Google Home app, you'll be able to keep an eye on your front porch through your smart device. Google integrated smarter detection into the video doorbell which can differentiate between a person, animal, and car, reducing the likelihood you'll get alerted about leaves blowing by.

If you'll be away on vacation or soon, or you'd like to up your home's security, the Google Nest Doorbell is a great option, and the sale price of $139.99 makes it an even easier choice. With a remote eye on your front door, you'll never have to wonder if your package arrived safely.
